Community in nature, tales from the trail, more alike than different

Nature does it again, takes the worry of the world and puts it on hold, just long enough to soothe the soul. Credit this time goes to a simple trail with the power to unite people from all walks of life, and let’s be honest none of us even know what each other’s walks of life are as we pass each other on the trail. Therein lies the magic, it doesn’t matter, we still all seek to make eye contact with one another to share a smile or friendly hello. Adding a dog into the mix amps up friendliness tenfold! And in this special place I have held dear for all these years, it’s actually a camera lens that seems to break down barriers by bringing us all together to “notice” something. For the one behind the lens, the joy of showing us their prized shot and for us, expressing thanks for bringing our attention to something we might not have otherwise noticed. For me personally I consider these moments a gift representing how to live life in this increasingly unsettled world. What a wonderful metaphor this trail became yesterday, that standing shoulder to shoulder with a total stranger, caught up in the moment of witnessing nature on display together is a shared experience that transcends any differences. With deepest gratitude I thank you nature for reminding me there is more beauty in the world than not when we choose that mindset. #choosekindness
